Theater Group students. There will be a rehearsal for our Holiday Show, tomorrow, Monday from 3:30 to 5:30.

Please bring your black shirts. Your name must be taped or written inside near the collar. Be prepared to leave them at school for the remainder of our rehearsals and our two shows. If you have a Christmas Hat, and sunglasses, please bring them. (Put your name inside your Christmas hat.)

We are still in need of two sombreros and a red, white, and blue (fourth of July style), top hat. Help us if you can.

Thank you.

LEAPs schedule this week:

K-2 will have LEAPs on Monday and Wednesday.

3-6th grade will have LEAPs on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Pick up time is 5:30. If you come earlier, you must come in the Kid's Corral doors and sign them out.

Roan Creek Elementary was fortunate to be able to offer the LEAPs program for our students again this year.
The purpose of the LEAPs program is to provide students with 20 minutes of physical fitness, a healthy snack, 25 minutes of homework help and tutoring, and enrichment activities.
We are proud of the activities that we have been able to offer our students and our teachers work very hard to plan fun lessons that will enhance your child's learning as well as be engaging.
Some of our students are refusing to do the 25 minutes of homework and tutoring. This 25 minutes is a requirement of this program.
Beginning tomorrow, students who argue or refuse to work or read during that 25 minutes will be documented. Teachers with LEAPs will communicate to you when you pick up your child what  has occurred.
When those refusals reach 3 times, you will receive a call from me letting you know that your child will not be allowed to stay for LEAPs.
Our program does make a difference in student achievement and we have rearranged the LEAPs schedule to ensure that all students get the academic help they need.
Please ask your child about their behavior when they stay for LEAPs.  If you ever have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to call me.

School Day

"RCE school does not open until 7:30.

The exception to this is if your child is enrolled in Kid's Corral OR you have contacted Dr. Long about your child attending LEAPs at 7:00am.

The bell rings at 8:00am. All students should be in their classrooms by 8:00am. If they are not, teachers will count them absent.

If your child arrives after 8:00 or right at 8:00, you must sign them in at the office.

RCE's school day ends at 3:00pm. We begin calling for pick-ups at 3:00pm.

Thank you for assisting us in following school hours and procedures."

Updates to the Johnson County Schools Call Out System School Messenger Image

Johnson County Schools have been using software for several years to communicate with its parents, staff and students about local events, school schedule changes and general school related information. There have been some major updates to the software over the past couple of months that have not allowed our e-mail communication to go out alongside our voice messages. This has created some confusion and has limited effective communication between the schools and parents. With assistance and guidance from our software team at School Messenger, we have a solution in place that will allow everyone to continue receiving calls via voice and e-mail.

Roan Creek Elementary is excited to announce that our TVAAS growth school-wide composite score is a 5 this year!  We are so proud of our students, staff, and faculty for the hard work they have done to reach this school-wide goal.
